Events calendar
Each year Council organises some major community events and festivals. These include Wollongong’s Australia Day celebration, a large-scale family friendly event staged around Belmore Basin on 26 January. We also organise a free family event to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Wollongong.
Through our Sponsorship Program we also provide assistance and support to many other community events. These have included the Thirroul Seaside Festival, Mt Kembla Heritage Festival, Spring into Corrimal, Southside Festival and Wollongong Christmas Carols. Sponsorships are usually determined in July, at the start of each financial year. Contact our Communications and Public Relations division for more information.
