Property Council of Australia 
The Property Council is the voice of leadership for the property industry.  They are a dynamic organisation that strives to become an integral business partner for its members through the provision of advocacy, information, networking, communications and professional development services.

The Illawarra ITsC Ltd 
Illawarra ITeC is a not for profit community based organisation that offers accredited small business training and advice.  There are five different small business support programs which are FREE of charge:

  • New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) which entails a free six week part time training program and 12 months of mentor and income support.
  • Illawarra Business Advisory Service (IBAS) provides free and confidential business advice/training to both existing and new business start ups.
  • Business Enterprise Centre (BEC) provides training, workshops and seminars.
  • Illawarra Innovation Advisory Service provides free and confidential advice for those wishing to commercialise their innovative product or service.
  • Aboriginal Enterprise Development Officer Program offers free and confidential advice for new start-up or existing Indigenous business clients.

Regional Development Australia - Illawarra
The Regional Development Australia - Illawarra, works in conjunction with its key stakeholders (industry, unions, regional development bodies, government and the community) to promote and support regional economic and social development through employment growth.

Sydney Water 
Sydney Water provides drinking water, recycled water, wastewater services and some stormwater services to more than four million people in Sydney, Illawarra and the Blue Mountains.  Drinking water is sourced from a number of dams managed by the Sydney Catchment Authority, then treated and delivered to customers’ homes and businesses by Sydney Water.

Australian Industy Group
An independent representative body created to help Australian industry be more domestically and internationally competitive, so that it takes its rightful place in the merging global economy. Largest industry body in Australia - created by the merger of Metal Trades Industry Association of Australia and the Australian Chamber of Manufacturers. Member services include representation: trade and international services: industrial/employee relations issues: environment, energy and safety; training; workforce strategies; association management and industry sector programs.

Corrimal Chamber of Commerce
The Corrimal Chamber of Commerce is an active Chamber committed to supporting the business community in Corrimal and the surrounds with a special focus on the ongoing development and revitalization of Corrimal as a Commercial hub for Northern Illawarra.  Networking evenings are held on the 3rd Monday night of each month for members to get to know each other and have the benefit of increasing their knowledge through listening to guest speakers on a wide range of business related topics.  Information on monthly meetings or to find out the latest news on the Chamber and the local business community can be obtained from the web site.

Department of Natural Resources
State Government Department which develops policies to ensure the sustainable management and use of land, soils, rivers, groundwater, coastal areas, vegetation and forests, as well as the restoration of degraded areas. Provides resource information, resource management and works with country councils to provide water supply and sewerage services. It manages State-owned (Crown) land including administering leases, licences and enclosure permits across NSW and Crown reserves such as showgrounds, race courses, caravan parks, camping sites, walking tracks and State Recreation Areas. DLWC manages and operates rural dams and assesses Aboriginal land claims and makes recommendations to the Minister. It also manages 31 fishing ports along the eastern seaboard.

Illawarra Business Chamber
The region’s peak business organisation which provides over 60 business support services to more than 700 member businesses in the Illawarra region of NSW. It is part of Australian Business Limited, the nation's most powerful member based business association (Not for Profit Companies Limited by Guarantee).  Caters from sole-traders to corporates.  From managing your OHS & IR matters to expanding overseas, to connecting with the local business community, IBC can assist businesses at every stage of the business lifecycle.

Illawarra Regional Development Board
The Illawarra Regional Development Board plays an important role in attracting business to the Illawarra, and supporting businesses operating in the region.

Illawarra Regional Information Service (IRIS)
IRIS Research is an independent, professional research company backed by an advisory body of leading academics at the University of Wollongong. IRIS produces and maintains economic statistics on the Illawarra region, and offers consultancy services in economic analysis and modelling, market research business and community consultation for government.

IRIS operations cover the Australian market and has developed specialisations in the assessment of community need, attitudes and preferences on behalf of local, state and Federal government instrumentalities.

Innovative Campus UOW
The University of Wollongong is developing the Innovation Campus (iC) on a 33 hectare beachside site located just north of Wollongong’s CBD and one hour from Sydney’s international airport. 

iC is being developed as part of a joint venture partnership between the University and one of Australia’s largest integrated building and service companies, Baulderstone Hornibrook.

The campus features leading edge infrastructure and facilities, environmental sustainable design, full fibre optic backbone, wireless network, tailored buildings and workspaces (from 250m2 to 10,000m2), landscaping and public art.

The Innovation Campus is built around a core of research and development, entrepreneurship and business growth. The iC vision is to build the best environment in the Asia-Pacific region to exchange and develop ideas and deliver innovative outcomes The iC will expand the economic base of the region and reshape the image of Wollongong as the City of Innovation.

Integral Energy is the second largest state-owned energy corporation in New South Wales.

NSW Department State and Regional Development
State Government Department which works with business to develop Sydney and New South Wales as a leading investment and business location in Asia Pacific. The Illawarra is one of 13 regions designated by the NSW Government as offering investors a rich range of natural and human resources to help business grow and prosper. It is promoted as a centre for technology, tourism and industry.

NSW Office of Industrial Relations
Do you employ staff? Then you cannot afford to miss these workshops offered by the NSW Office of Industrial Relations.

Employing staff - using awards is a series of award specific workshops aimed at employers who already have an understanding of the basics of the award but require a more thorough working knowledge of the key provisions and issues in the award.

What are awards?
Awards are legal documents setting out minimum rates of pay and conditions of employment which apply to employees in particular workplaces, organisations, industries or occupations, regardless of whether they are salaried employees.

Working in small groups, participants will be guided by the presenter through a range of practical scenarios.

Workshops currently available in the Wollongong area are:

Shop Employees (State) Award
This practical workshop is designed to help employers of staff working in retail shops, including shop assistants, window dressers, sales consultants, most employees working in sandwich shops and take-away food shops and door to door sales staff, understand and apply key provisions in the Award.

Clerical and Administrative Employees (State) Award
This practical workshop is designed to help employers of staff working in clerical and administrative jobs (which include clerks, secretaries, personal or executive assistants, receptionists, computer data processors, typists and stenographers) understand and apply key provisions in the Award.

Miscellaneous Kindergarten and Childcare Workers (State) Award
This is a practical workshop designed to help employers in kindergarten and child care centres understand and apply key provisions in the Award.

Roads and Traffic Authority 
Responsible for promoting road safety and traffic management, driver licensing and vehicle registration.  Also for maintenance and development of National Highway and State Road network in NSW.  Provides funding assistance to Local Councils for Regional Roads and to a limited extent, for local roads.

The Illawarra Connection is a networking organisation catering for leading professional, commercial and industrial business and community organisations that are committed to help the Illawarra achieve its full potential and recognition as a regional driver in the NSW Economy.

Tourism Wollongong
Tourism Wollongong represents tourism product in the Local Government Area of Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia. Tourism Wollongong operates a Level 1 accredited Visitor Information Centre at 93 Crown Street Wollongong. It is a member based organisation offering a range of services and benefits to members.

University of Wollongong (UOW) 
Australia's University of the Year 2000-2001 and 1999-2000. The Wollongong Campus is located in the heart of the Illawarra and combines a natural environment with comprehensive infrastructure, including an easily accessible high tech system for both communication and information retrieval. This allows access to resources from all over the world, making for a sophisticated and user friendly learning environment.

Wollongong Stock Exchange 
The Wollongong Stock Exchange is a co-ordinated initiative between NSX Limited, Wollongong City Council and the Illawarra Business Chamber.

Based in Wollongong, it facilitates the public listing of Companies based in Wollongong and the surrounding Illawarra region, on an approved Stock Market operated by NSX.
