Transport for NSW Government has announced that from 29 January 2018, it will introduce paid fares on the Gong Shuttle.
Wollongong City Council discussed this issue at an Extraordinary Council meeting of 6 November 2017, and resolved to ‘oppose any move to introduce a fee for the Gong Shuttle’.
Council has written to the Premier of NSW opposing any change to the Gong Shuttle. A petition is also available at the Council building, libraries and other facilities for people to sign opposing any changes.
We are also encouraging Wollongong residents to write to the Premier, urging that this decision be immediately overturned. It you would like to write to the Premier, we have prepared a draft letter for you to sign and forward to the Premier at https://www.nsw.gov.au/contact-us/contact-the-premier/ or send a letter to:
The Hon Gladys Berejiklian MP
Premier of NSW

If you’re sending a hard copy of the letter, please make sure to include your name and return address details.
