Proposal for Headland Avenue, Austinmer
Council is considering the reconstruction of existing car park in the reserve off Headland Avenue Austinmer to improve the general amenity of the area.
The works involves the construction of a sealed car park over the current gravel area with provision for boat trailer as well as single car parking. A boat wash-down area, fish cleaning facilities will be provided as well as landscaping to provide shade areas.
The southern end of the existing gravel car park will be converted to a grassed picnic area with additional landscaping. Treated timber fencing, some incorporating seating, will be used to define the extent of the car park and limit vehicle movements over the reserve as a whole.
The existing brick and concrete shelter shed will be removed and a new one construct closer to the shore line. Further details are shown on the Preliminary plan on the right hand side of page.
Estimated cost of the works is $150,000.
