Draft Wollongong LEP 1990 (Amendment No.242 - Removal of interest from seven sites)
A draft Local Environmental Plan to amend the Wollongong Local Environmental Plan 1990 is on exhibition for public comment. The draft Local Environmental Plan seeks to remove actual or perceived interests or trusts from the land from the following seven sites, which were reclassified to operational land in 2006:
- Car park at Berkeley Sports Club, Part Lot 1858 DP 227528
- Car park at Wilga Street, Corrimal, Lot 5 DP 37769
- Car park leased by the University of Wollongong, Keiraville, Part Lot 1672 DP 877546
- Car park at Allan Street, Port Kembla, Lots 1-5 DP 5868
- Car park at Tannery Street, Unanderra, Lot 203 DP 631544 and Lot 6 DP 19611
- Heliport and car park, Springhill Road, Wollongong, Lot 102 DP 847615
- Car park at Robert Street, Woonona, Part Lot 100 DP 1035000

The draft Local Environmental Plan is also available for inspection at the Environmental Strategy and Planning Division (Level 3) of Council’s Administration Building, 41 Burelli Street, Wollongong during normal working hours (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday) and at Wollongong, Unanderra, Warrawong & Corrimal Libraries (during library hours).
A CD of the documentation is available from Council’s Land Use Planning team free of charge.
The public exhibition commenced on 28 February 2009 and will close on 3 April 2009.
A Public Hearing into the proposed removal of perceived trusts on Council land will also be held on Thursday 19 March 2009, at 6:30pm in the Level 9 Function Room at Council’s Administration Centre.
Any person may make a submission for or against the draft plan. Submissions should be submitted to Council by 3 April 2009. Where a submission is made by way of objection, the grounds for objection should be specified in the submission. Submissions on the documents must be in writing.
