Draft amendment to Wollongong City Centre Local Environment Plan 2007 (Certificate plan no. WCC 01/08) for lots 101-106 DP 1125366, No. 1 Ross Street, Wollongong

A Draft Local Environmental Plan is being placed on exhibition for public comment. The Draft Plan proposes is to permit an additional use under Schedule 1 of the LEP for the purpose of a hospital.

Council considered a proposal for the additional use of a private hospital at No 1 Ross Street Wollongong. The site has been developed as a seniors living complex known as 'The Links Seaside'. The proponents are now seeking to convert space within the complex for 63 private hospital beds for the aged and those with chronic illness.

The Draft Plan and other relevant documents and policies are available for inspection at Council’s Land Use Planning Department (Level 3 of the Council Administration Building, Burrelli Street, Wollongong) during normal working hours (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday), Wollongong Library and on this webpage.

Any person before the closing date shown above may make a` submission for or against the draft plan. Where a submission is made by way of objection, the grounds for objection should be specified in the submission. Submissions on the Draft Plan must be in writing addressed to the General Manager.
