Harry Graham Drive

Work on Harry Graham Drive is soon to recommence after Council was forced to close the road when heavy rain caused a series of major rock falls along the Mount Kembla cliff face approx 18months ago.

A detailed geotechnical assessment of the unstable area was completed in January 2009. This investigation found that the area of instability includes a deep slip plane and that this plane is at a much greater depth than previously anticipated. Council has considered the findings of this detailed geotechnical investigation.

The road stabilisation work will include the installation of a deep subsoil drainage system, bored reinforced concrete piles and further rock bolting to stabilise the cliff face.

Although a final completion date cannot be determined until after the tender is assessed, Council will continue to keep residents updated on our website and through letter box drops as the project progresses.
The road remains closed to traffic and pedestrians.

Plans are in place however to ensure emergency services and residents have access to Harry Graham Drive in the case of an emergency such as a fire evacuation.

Council and the Rural Fire Service have started work on upgrade to the fire trail between Harry Graham Drive and OBriens Road, as well as above Harry Graham Drive. These fire trails will provide greater access for the Rural Fire Service into the area.
