The Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA) replaced the Freedom of Information Act 1989 and Section 12 of the Local Government Act on 1 July 2010. Under GIPA you have a right, with limited exceptions, to access documents held by Council.
You can request to view any document held by Council. Due to the nature of some documents access may be refused either in full or in part.
We have an extensive list of information that is freely available on our website. Please review the attached Open Access Information Register which contains hyperlinks that will take you directly to the information you may be seeking access to. Please refer to the Information containing Overriding Public Interest against Disclosure for a list of documents that Council are unable to publish.
