Media centre

As a dynamic local government authority, we use many forms of communication to let our residents, ratepayers, visitors and potential investors know about what's happening at Wollongong City Council.

One of these channels is our local media, and through our Communications and Strategy Division, we issue an average of 30 media releases every month. These cover a broad range of topics including key Council decisions, major projects, exciting events, and plans or strategies on public exhibition.

We run a weekly Community Update section in the Wollongong Advertiser which you can also access through this web page, along with six community newsletters a year.

Through our 'What's hot' section you can find out the latest news on Council projects and events. As well as simply finding out about Council activities, you can also get directly involved through our many community engagement programs. Visit 'Have your say' to find out more.
