Wollongong City Council coordinates an equal opportunity work experience program. This program provides opportunities to gain one week of valuable “hands on” experience/exposure for local students studying within an educational institution. All requests for work experience placements must be forwarded to the Human Resources Division for consideration, approval and coordination.

School students are required to arrange their application through their Career’s Advisor. Other students are to apply in writing stating the preferred week and the relevance of their request to their studies. The request is directed to the appropriate division and providing the resources are available to accommodate this request, the school/TAFE/Uni is required to provide documentation as evidence of their Insurance Indemnity to cover the student. The 'work experience placement' document needs to be completed and sent to our Human Resources Division.
