Waste and recycling
Wollongong City Council offers a comprehensive range of waste management and education services, including fortnightly recycling and green waste collections and an annual clean-up service.
We’re committed to the reduction of waste to landfill, and as a city we have an excellent record when it comes to recycling and managing our household waste.
On average every year, each household in Wollongong sends approximately 480kg of waste to landfill and recycles 500kg of material.
Through this section you can find out all you need to know about your bin service; including how to change your bin size, get a new bin or report a missing or broken bin.
You can also follow the links to find out about our waste education initiatives, prices and opening hours at our waste depots and a range of current disposal programs including the annual chemical cleanout and medicine and syringe safety.
