HSC Help @ your library

To help those students going into Year 12 next year, the library is holding a free session to assist students to find out how your local library can give you the edge in your HSC studies. Topics will include how to find relevant information fast, smart searching on the web, how to access newspaper and magazine articles and how to do all of this from home. Bookings essential.

MOBILE LIBRARY TIMETABLE CHANGES

Until the end of December 2009, the following changes to the Mobile Library timetable will take place:

Week 2: Friday

Fairy Meadow 11am-11.30am  CANCELLED

Corrimal (near 19-31 Eager Street) - WILL NOW VISIT 1pm-1.30pm

These changes will take place from Friday 6 November. We apologise for any inconvenience.

FREE Wifi HOTSPOT

Free WiFi Hotspot is now available at Corrimal, Dapto, Thirroul, Warrawong and Wollongong libraries. Members and visitors with their own laptop/notebook can access the wireless network in these libraries during opening hours.

Library Elf Reminder Service

Do you have trouble keeping track of all of those great books, DVDs and magazines you have checked out of the library? Get a bit of help from Library Elf

Summer Reading Club

The Summer Reading Club (SRC) will be starting on 1 December 2009 and running through to 22 January 2010. The SRC is for all children from 0-12 regardless of whether they can read independantly or if a parent reads to them. Children will have the opportunity to win prizes and join in fun games and activities. Registrations will be taken from 1 December at your local library.

Toddler Time

This program provides 30 minutes of FUN and stories, songs, finger plays and movement rhymes and is designed especially for children aged 2 to 3.

A literacy initiative for babies. 

Storytime
Recommences at most Branches in the first week of February.  Dad's and Grandad's Storytime will run again at Dapto on the first Saturday of the month

Dads and Grandads Storytime at Dapto

Every Saturday 10-10.30am.  This program comprises stories, songs and finger rhymes and is lots of FUN for you and your child.  The program is designed specifically for 3 to 6 year olds.

At the final meeting for the year Friends of the Wollongong Library will have Brennan Keats, a naval historian, author, composer and resident of Wollongong speaking about his most recent book Quiet Waters which follows the life of Russell Keats, a supply assistant on the heavy cruiser HMAS Canberra, as related through letters to his parents just before his death in the fatal action at the Battle of Savo Sound in 1942
