Free internet access is available at all libraries for research and information seeking.

Email/chat facilities are available at all libraries. 

Word processing PCs are available at all libraries.

Computer/Internet Training

Basic computer skills - A course for those with little or no experience using a computer mouse or keyboard

Cost: Free
Duration: 1.5hrs

• Computer mouse tutorial
• Using a keyboard
• Keyboard shortcuts

Basic Internet training - A course for those with little or no experience using the internet.  This course will show you how to navigate your way around the internet and search for information.  To do this course you must have done the Basic Computer skills course or be able to use a computer mouse and keyboard

Cost: $25.00
Duration: 2hrs

Course content:-
• Web browsers and home pages
• Internet Explorer toolbar
• Web addresses (url's)
• Following links
• Using search engines and subject indexes
• Weblinks

Advanced Internet training - A course for those with considerable experience using the internet.  To do this course you will need to have completed the Basic Internet training course or to have experience using the internet.

Cost: $25.00
Duration: 2hrs

Course content:-
• Google advanced search
• Google scholar
• Subject directories
• Weblinks
• Subscription databases
• Local databases - Illawarra Images and Illawarra index

Getting started with web-based email - To do this course you must have done the Basic Computer skills course or be able to use a computer mouse and keyboard

Cost $15.00
Duration: 1.5hrs

• Set up an email account using Yahoo or G Mail
• Basic features of Yahoo or G Mail
