Wollongong City Council provides sponsorship for community events held in the Wollongong Local Government Area through its Financial Assistance Policy Part D Sponsorship of Community Events.

Each year, applications for sponsorship are invited from organisers of city-wide events, local community events and sporting events of state or national significance; that will be held in the upcoming new financial year.

Those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are encouraged to apply.

Information relating to the Sponsorship of Community Events can be found in the Financial Assistance Policy available on Councils website.

Council is holding a free information session where you can learn more about our financial assistance programs.  If you would like to attend this workshop please complete the below registration form.

Applications for sponsorship of events to be held in 2019/2020 financial year will be accepted from 1 February to 29 March 2019.

To apply for Sponsorship of Community Events, follow these steps:

1. Read Section D – Sponsorship of Community Events of the Financial Assistance Policy
2. Register for Council's Online Services. We'll email you a user name and temporary password within two business days. You will need to be registered to apply for any of our Financial Assistance programs (you only need to register once).  You will need to allow at least 3 working days for processing.

3. Complete an online application.

Benefits of registering for Council's online services:

  • Saving un-submitted applications to edit and submit at a later date
  • Auto population of name details, the system will recognise your company/organisation information when you sign in and pre load this information.
  • Keep a record of all applications which have been lodged and track their process.
