We're working to repair damage caused by multiple weather events at Tunnel Road, Helensburgh.
In 2022, a natural disaster caused damage to crash barriers and scouring on part of Tunnel Road. Council began planning repairs after this event.
Unfortunately, in 2024 a second natural disaster caused more damage at this location. This meant we had to change our plans to include additional areas for repair.
We have secured external funding for this work and finalised the detailed design for repairs. We are now seeking final approval from Sydney Water, which owns underground assets close to where we need to work. Once Sydney Water approval is confirmed, we can move forward with tendering and construction of the repair works.
We'll provide updates as more details about this project are confirmed, including expected timeframes.
