Beaches

All beaches will be open, subject to sea conditions.

Public Holidays 25 and 26 December 2019 and 1 January 2020 will be patrolled by Surf Life Saving Illawarra.

Botanic Gardens

Open every day

Wednesday 25 December 2019 – Closed

Community Facilities

Direct managed sites will close 1pm Tuesday 24 December 2019 and reopen 9am Thursday 2 January 2020.

Groups with bookings will have self-access during this time. For information on licensed centres contact the licensees (contact details on WCC website).

Community Transport

Wollongong Office

Bus Hire / Group Transport – will cease service COB Friday 20 December 2019 and resume Monday 13 January 2020.

Individual Transport – bookings will cease on Friday 20 December 2019 and resume Monday 6 January 2020. Service will resume Monday 13 January 2020.

Southern Office

Shopping Bus – last shopping run is Thursday 19 December 2019 and resume Thursday 9 January 2020.

Bus Hire / Group Transport – will cease on Friday 20 December 2019 and resume Monday 13 January 2020.

Customer Service Centre and Call Centre

Closed from midday Tuesday 24 December 2019, reopening 8.30am Thursday 2 January 2020.

Events

Rides will operate in Lang Park from Friday 27 December 2019 until Wednesday 1 January 2020 (inclusive).

Graffiti Services

All graffiti reports can be lodged via Council webpage or the after hours contact number during the closure period.

Interpreter Service

Interpreter Service will close on Monday 23 December 2019 and reopen on Friday 3 January 2020.

Tourist Parks

Standard Office hours (8am to 7.30pm, 7 days) for the balance of the Christmas period.

Whytes Gully Waste Disposal Depot

Closed Christmas Day only. Open 8am-4pm on weekends and public holidays (excluding Christmas Day), and 7.30am-4.30pm on the other weekdays.

Wollongong Youth Services

Closed from Tuesday 24 December 2019 and reopen Monday 6 January 2020. No Outreach Programs will be offered during this period.

Wollongong Memorial Gardens and Cemeteries

Wollongong Memorial Gardens and Cemeteries office will be closed on Wednesday 25 December 2019, reopening 9.00am Thursday 2 January 2020.

Burial operations and memorial services will continue to operate throughout the Christmas and New Year period and the grounds will be open during the daylight hours for visits.
