SPIN FEST: Greenacres Outsider Artists Exhibition
Greenacres Disability Services will host the annual Outsider Artists exhibition this September. Two hundred individual art works and ceramics created by People who live with Disabilities will be displayed at Project Contemporary Artspace.
Outsider Art is a creative community where artists who live with a physical, psychological or neurological disability are supported to explore different artistic mediums and develop their own distinctive style. The result is an exhibition which is as unique and inspiring as the artists themselves.
This exhibition is the completion of the full cycle for participants, from an artist learning new skills to reaching a pinnacle point by inviting family, carers and the community to view their final works. Exhibiting at the event helps raise self-esteem which will improve overall health, interpersonal skills, and personal development and contribute to removing the stigma around disability.
This is a free event, no booking or tickets required.
Open daily between 15-24 September. Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Saturday-Sunday 10am-3pm.
Opening Event: Morning tea and meet the artists, 10am-11.45am, 15 September.
Note - opening hours may be subject to change during the UCI Road World Championships. Visit the Project Contemporary Artspace website for up to date information.
