Pedal in the Park is pushing off this Sunday

Thursday 15 April 2021

Come along to Wollongong City Council’s Pedal in the Park this Sunday 18 April in MacCabe Park, Wollongong.

The event, created with the support of the NSW Government and The Festival of Place - Summer Fund, will provide the opportunity for the community to come together to enjoy a morning with their family, friends and fellow recreational bike riders.

It’s on between 8am and 12 noon with live music and stage entertainment including DJ Davertainment and the Pockets Trio, games, giveaways, and bike education with Ride Nation. There will also be How-to presentations by Giant Wollongong, and coffee and food available to enjoy.

After you've visited Pedal in the Park, the entertainment will continue into Crown Street Mall with Laughter House Entertainment’s unicycle ballet and sideshow performances from 10am until 2pm. Visitors who have come from Pedal in the Park will also have the opportunity to pick up a free bike bell during the performances.

“Pedal in the Park is a great opportunity to get outside and on a bike with your family or friends. Our CBD is a popular place for people to meet each other, and we want to encourage the community to think about travelling in and around our city by bike,’’ Cr Bradbery said.

“Events like these energise our city, and those attending will be able to add to their biking knowledge with helpful tips such as learning how to change a bike tyre or information on Wollongong’s newest cycling routes. We also encourage local traffic in the area to be mindful of families on bikes and cyclists in general who will be making their way to and from the event.”
