Help us drive changes in Keiraville and Gwynneville

Wednesday 25 March 2020

It’s not too late to give us your opinion on how we can make driving, riding, walking or using public transport around Keiraville and Gwynneville easier and more efficient.

We’re asking for feedback on a draft study that explores how people move in and around Keiraville and Gwynneville. You can join the conversation on our website at our.wollongong.nsw.gov.au.

“It’s anticipated these two villages will continue to experience significant challenges, pressures for growth and changes in the coming decades,’’ Wollongong Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said. “How we manage these issues is paramount.

“We know the university and its students have a strong influence on Keiraville and Gwynneville in terms of traffic and the growing changes to the health precinct in Wollongong are also playing a role in shaping how people move through the area.

“A study has been done that examines the current situation and provides suggestions for future plans for how people drive, walk, ride or use public transport. The main objectives of this work are to improve the transport system, promote the use of public transport and sustainable travel and ensure that the transport network can cope with future changes.’’

The Access and Movement study also includes the Beaton Park and Fairy Creek precincts. Council is working with Neighbourhood Forum 5, the University of Wollongong, Transport for NSW and community members on the existing and future access and transport issues in the area.

We invite your thoughts and ideas on the draft Study with feedback due by 5pm, Tuesday 7 April 2020.
