Were you there at Comic Gong 2022? The sun was shining on Saturday 14 May as thousands of people converged on the CBD for Wollongong's original pop-culture festival.

The one-day event, presented by Wollongong City Libraries and Wollongong Council, Comic Gong was held across five locations: Wollongong Library, Wollongong Town Hall, Arts Precinct, Arts Gallery and the Crown Street Mall.

Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM thanked all those who came along and took part in the celebrations.

"There was such a fantastic atmosphere around Wollongong Library, Wollongong Town Hall and in the Crown Street Mall on Saturday. We really saw the city come to life in a colourful celebration of everything comic,'' he said

"There were some very elaborate costumes, lots of junior spidermen, wonder women and a few Disney princesses as well. It was terrific to see so many people out enjoying themselves and spending time with their family and friends. After the challenging past few years, it was clear everyone was ready to have some fun - and Comic Gong delivered.''
