Making our homes more efficient is something we can all do to reduce carbon emissions, tackle climate change and save some money.
Borrow one of our new Energy Efficiency Toolkits and get on board.
The toolkits include the following:
- Energy saving thermometer - check whether the temperature of your hot water, rooms in your home and appliances like your fridge and freezer are at their most energy efficient.
- Water flow measuring cup - measure how much water your taps and shower are using in litres per minute.
- Energy meter - measure how much power is being used by devices and identify the culprit behind high energy bills.
- Non-contact thermometer - find the hot and cold spots in your home to help you identify missing insulation, draught sources and high energy use devices.
The kits come with instructions, including how to understand your results and suggestions for improvement.
The kits are free to borrow from any Wollongong City Library and come in a handy carry case. You just need to be a Wollongong City Libraries member (it’s free to join).
