Volunteer With Us

Make a difference in your community.

Wollongong City Libraries are at the heart of our community where everyone can discover, learn and connect.

Our Volunteer Program is a great opportunity to share your skills and make a difference in your community.

We provide you with support and training, and applications and enquiries are always welcome.

Current Volunteer Roles

Volunteer tutors provide literacy and numeracy support for people wanting to improve their reading, writing or maths skills.

Tutors work one-to-one with an adult learner, meeting for approximately 1 ½ hours each week over a 12-month period to help meet the learner’s goals.

While no teaching experience is necessary, this is a skilled volunteer role. Volunteers are required to undertake free training to prepare for tutoring work with learners.  Volunteers will be provided with ongoing mentoring and resources.

For more information on becoming a volunteer tutor, please download our information pack.
