Wollongong City Libraries want to help everyone find the support they need to improve their digital skills. These skills are vital to the wellbeing and safety of our community.

In Australia, 2.5 million people are offline and less than 40% of people are confident that they can keep up with the rapid pace of tech changes. For people more at risk of digital exclusion, such as older people, people with disability, low-income families and First Nations people, this rate is even higher.

There are many online learning resources available on the Be Connected website to develop your skills and confidence. Explore the links below to get started.

New to computers? This is the perfect place to start. Learn the essentials of using a computer, laptop, tablet and smartphone, and find out about the internet, web browsers, web addresses and search engines.

This topic will teach you the basic functions of a keyboard, mouse and computer, including how to change settings and manage your files.

Navigating the online world can be a little tricky at first, but to get started we recommend learning essential skills including using the internet, using online forms, using search engines and an introduction to internet safety.
