Illawarra Mercury Cosplay Competition

Step into the spotlight at Comic Gong's Illawarra Mercury Cosplay Competition. From original designs to iconic characters, bring your cosplay A-game for a chance to impress our judges and claim a prize.

There’s hundreds of dollars’ worth of great prizes up for grabs. Plus, winners and runners up in the Children, Youth and Adult categories will receive a custom designed 3D printed medal created by Illustris Models and 3D Printing.

Registrations open on the day, thirty minutes prior to each competition category commencing. Register early to secure your spot as competition places are limited.

Accessible viewing area

We’ve reserved an Accessible Viewing Area for people with disability or accessibility requirements, and their family and carers, to watch the Illawarra Mercury Cosplay Competition in the Heininger Hall.

Cosplay Repair Station

Visit our Cosplay Repair Station in the Sassafras room for minor fixes and touch-ups to keep your cosplay looking flawless! From sewing mishaps to prop emergencies, our skilled volunteers from South Coast Cosplayers will have safety pins and super glue on hand to ensure you stay in character all day long.

Costume weapons policy

Comic Gong is committed to providing a safe environment for everyone to enjoy. To help us maintain a safe space for all, we ask all attendees to be mindful of our Weapons Policy when crafting their costumes for the festival.
