Trees on your property

If you want to prune or remove a tree on your property, you may need permission from Council. See the Trees on Your Property page for details.

Greening your suburb

We're working to make Wollongong a greener city by adding more trees and plants. There are lots of ways you can help - see the Greening Your Suburb page for details.

Residents can also buy native plants at discounted prices through our Botanic Garden's regular Greenplan Sales.

Trees and plants in front of your house

You should not plant trees in public spaces, but you can ask Council to plant a tree on the land in front of your house. Request a street tree online or call us on (02) 4227 7111.

You can also plant a verge garden (with no trees) in front of your property as long as you follow the guidelines on our Verge Gardens page.
