Activity Applications are used to get permission from Council for a broad range of activities under Section 68 of the Local Government Act 1993.
Depending on what you're planning to do, you might use an Activity Application on its own, or as part of a Development Application.
What activities are included?

| Water supply, sewerage and stormwater drainage work | Work relating to water supply, service pipes, sewerage work, drainage work, or connecting private drains or sewers with a public drain or sewer controlled by Council. |
| Waste management | Placing waste or waste storage containers in a public place, or disposing of waste in a Council sewer. Installing or operating a waste treatment or sewage treatment system - please see our On-Site Sewage Systems page for more details. |
| Community Land | Trading or running a business on community land. Holding an event, performance or other entertainment for the public on community land, or building temporary structures for entertainment - please also see our Organise an Event pages for more information. Busking, using a loudspeaker or sound amplifying device, delivering a public address, or holding a religious service or public meeting. |
| Public roads | Swing or hoist goods across any part of a public road. Install an advertising structure over a public road, or allow any items or articles to overhang the road. |
| Other activities | Operate a public car park. Operate a caravan park, camping ground or manufactured home estate - see our Information for Park Operators and Managers page for more information. Install a wood heater or similar non-portable domestic heating appliance - see our Wood Heaters page for more information. Install or operate an amusement device. Sell articles from a vehicle in a public place. |

How to apply
Owners consent
If the activity you're applying for will take place on property that you don't own (for example, Council-owned land), your application will need to include written approval of the property owner/s.

Council application fees for Activity Applications are shown below.
After you apply through the Planning Portal, Council will issue you with an invoice. When we receive payment, your application will be formally accepted and lodged, and you'll receive a confirmation email.
