Our network of shared pathways are a great way to get around on foot. They're also great for wheelchairs, prams and scooters. We have more than 120km of shared paths throughout the city.
See the Using Our Shared Pathways page for tips to keep you safe on these paths.
We’re always looking for opportunities to build more shared paths and improve the ones we’ve already got, through our Wollongong Cycling Strategy PDF, 2706.16 KB and projects like the Grand Pacific Walk.
We also have a Pedestrian Plan PDF, 3678.1 KB that sets out our vision for walking in our city, and includes a range of strategies and actions to support people getting around on foot.
Vision Illawarra Navability Map
Vision Illawarra's website has a Navability map that shows footpaths, shared pathways and trails accessible by wheelchair in the Wollongong City Centre. It also includes an effort ratings guide.
Suggest improvements for pedestrian paths and ramps
Each year our works program includes many projects to repair, replace and add footpaths and ramps for pedestrians. We welcome suggestions from residents to help us identify places that could benefit from new paths or ramps.
Let us know if you've noticed somewhere that seems to be a 'missing link' in our footpath network, a regularly walked grass path, or missing or unstable kerb ramps.
