Our freshwater pools are all supervised by Council Lifeguards. Entry fees apply only to heated pools.

Please note, water quality at our saltwater pools can be affected by weather and ocean conditions. If your favourite saltwater pool is closed, check our list of freshwater pools above for more swimming options.
Rock pools
Our nine rock pools are some of our most loved swimming spots. Set in picturesque rock shelf locations, most of our rock pools are best at low tide.
There is no lifeguard service at our rock pools.

Wollongong's rock pools have a more complex history. The earliest rock pools in the area are believed to date back to the mid 1800s, but some of these have evolved, or no longer exist. Other rockpools, such as Bellambi, Towradgi and Woonona, were not built until the mid-20th Century.
