Climate Action
Climate change is increasingly impacting our lives through more frequent extreme weather events, hotter days, and shifting ecosystems.
Wollongong City Council recognises the importance of working together to reduce the impacts of climate change to protect our community and our future. Individuals, businesses and government all have a role to play in building a more sustainable Wollongong.
We do this by reducing greenhouse gas emissions through utilising clean energy sources, reducing waste and transitioning to sustainable manufacturing practices and food sources. At the same time must adapt our city so we’re more prepared and resilient to impacts that can’t be avoided.
