Mental Health and Crisis Support
The mental health and well-being of our community is an important issue that affects all of us.
Council doesn't directly delivery mental health services, but we encourage anyone who is struggling or in crisis to seek help.
For general, free 24/7 support you can call or visit:
- Lifeline phone 13 11 14
- Beyond Blue phone 1300 22 46 36
- NSW Mental Health Line 1800 011 511
- Transcultural Mental Health Line 1800 648 911 - includes support in multiple languages.
A detailed list of mental health services and support contacts can be found on the NSW Health website.
You can also pick a topic below to find support for different situations.
Mental Health in Multicultural Communities
Seeking help for mental health issues can be hard, especially if you are from a multicultural background. In this short video, Rasha Hasan speaks about her experiences, and how mental health services gave her the support and strength to get through hard times.
This video was created for National Mental Health Awareness Month 2022. Special thanks to SCARF Refugee Support and TAFE NSW - Wollongong.
