Recognition Receptions
Our Recognition Receptions are held each year to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations in our city. This can include national Roll of Honour recipients, volunteers, academics, sportspeople and others who contribute to our community.
These events generally acknowledge people or groups within one of the following categories:
- Volunteering milestones – people who have volunteered with a community group, cause or community initiative for a significant period of time, such as 5 years, 10 years or 20 years.
- Individuals who have provided significant or valuable contribution to the Wollongong community in their chosen field/s. This could include the environment, arts, innovation, sports, social inclusion or any other interest.
- Community organisations who have made an outstanding contribution to the people of Wollongong in their chosen field/s. This could include the environment, arts, innovation, sports, social inclusion or any other interest.
- Individuals or groups who have received recognition or an award for a significant achievement in their chosen field.
We'll update this page when nominations are invited for our next Recognition Reception.
