Handover to Council
As part of many subdivisions, the developer builds assets that will eventually be handed over to Council to look after. This can include things like roads, footpaths and public spaces.
The development consent for a subdivision outlines any assets that will be handed over to Council.
A maintenance period is also included in the consent. During the maintenance period, the developer is responsible for keeping assets in good condition and repairing any damage.
At the end of the maintenance period, the developer must arrange a handover inspection with Council. Any defects or issues identified in this inspection must be fixed before the final handover to Council is approved.
To arrange a handover inspection, email or call us on (02) 4227 7111.
