Sports and Facilities Reference Group
The Sports and Facilities Reference Group advises Council about sport in our city. This includes identifying priorities for improving sports facilities, planning new facilities and attracting major sporting events to Wollongong.

Please note, the minutes for each meeting are uploaded to the website following their review and endorsement at the next scheduled meeting.
Members of the Sports and Facilities Reference Group include:
- Three Councillors (one from each ward)
- Representatives from:
- Sport and Recreation Communities NSW
- Illawarra Academy of Sport
- Key local sports bodies.
Council staff who plan for and look after sports facilities also attend meetings, but don’t vote as part of the group.
