We encourage you to park your caravan, boat or trailer on private property. Parking these types of vehicles on a public road can impact other road users and members of the public.
Parking your caravan, boat or trailer on a public road is usually ok for a short amount of time, but please note:
- The vehicle must be registered
- You must follow the time frames set out in the Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act 2021 and the NSW Road Rules 2014
- Different rules will apply if it is a heavy or long vehicle - see below for more information.
You can report a caravan, boat or trailer that has been left in a public place for more than 28 days to Council. See our Abandoned and Unattended Vehicles page for more information.
