Wollongong has many beautiful natural areas, including rainforests, wetlands, beaches and the escarpment. These places are important for the health of our environment, and home to many native animals.
Council looks after many natural areas. Others are managed by state government bodies like the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.
We also support volunteers who work in natural areas through programs like Bushcare, Dunecare, Fiready and Rise and Shine.
