City of Wollongong Awards

Wollongong is home to some pretty impressive individuals who go about their lives doing amazing things for their community.
They might be hardworking and dedicated volunteers, putting loads of love, energy and passion into a creative pursuit, or taking our city to the world stage through something extraordinary they do.
Often these people do not want, or seek, recognition for the work that they do.
However, we think that a gesture of appreciation and a big thank you can go a long way. That’s why the City of Wollongong Awards were introduced and have become a key annual event.
Right now, the City of Wollongong Awards nominations are open and I’m encouraging everyone to take a moment to think about those people in our community who deserve recognition for going above and beyond.
There are 11 categories including Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the year and Environmental Achievement Award.
People can be nominated across more than one category, and it’s a great way to acknowledge the people and organisations who make Wollongong a better place to live, work and play.
They’re also a way to inspire more of us to consider others in our daily lives, and to feel fortunate in being able to call Wollongong home.
Nominations close on Saturday 30 November so now is the time to get thinking, and start filling in the nomination form.
