Community Services Space Conditions of Use

These are the conditions that apply to community services organisations using the Community Services Space at Wollongong Library.

  1. Services or information provided in this space should reflect a community need and support Wollongong City Council's values. There must not be bias or a breach of State or Federal legislation relating to discrimination, racial vilification, defamation or animal welfare. Any information or service provided must not be offensive.
  2. Bookings will be accepted up to 12 months ahead of time.
  3. Organisations using this space can speak to clients or interested library customers within the building. However you must not actively canvas library customers, or seek payment for the services provided.
  4. If a space is required for private consultations, a separate booking must be made to use a study room on Level 1 of the library. Use of this room is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
  5. You must read and follow the Library Display Facilities Management Policy PDF, 45.38 KB.
  6. Long term  partnerships or use of this space require a formalised agreement with Wollongong City Council. Talk to library staff if you would like to enter a long term agreement.
  7. Minimal supervision of the space will be provided by library staff.
  8. The provision of any banners and/or advertising is the responsibility of the organisation using the space.
  9. Wollongong City Libraries may advertise community services using this space in-house or online at our discretion. Organisations using the space are encouraged to advertise their library sessions through their own networks.
  10. At the end of the booking time, the Community Services space must be vacated and all materials brought in must be taken with you.
  11. Wollongong City Council does not accept care, custody or control of the information service.
  12. Organisations using this space are not covered by Wollongong City Council insurance.
  13. Wollongong City Libraries retain the right to accept or reject a booking request at the discretion of the Library Manager.
