If you want to build or remove a swimming pool, you will need to get permission and approvals from Council. Call us on (02) 4227 7111 to talk about what you'll need to do.
You will also need to register your new pool on the NSW Swimming Pool Register. See our Pool Registration page for details.
You will need permission to build a swimming pool or spa. You will also need approved swimming pool fencing.
Talk to us about your proposed swimming pool or spa before you start this process by calling (02) 4227 7111.
Any pool or spa that needs approval to be installed will need approval to be removed.
Portable pools do not usually need approval to be removed. If you're not sure, call us on (02) 4227 7111 for advice.
Advise Council when the pool has been removed
Even if you didn't need approval to remove the swimming pool, you must tell us once the pool has been removed so we can update and remove the pool from the NSW Swimming Pool Register.
Call us on (02) 4227 7111 or email Council to tell us when the pool has been removed.
It is recommended that you take photos of the swimming pool before and after it is removed, and include these when telling us the pool has been removed.
