Meet Rachel and Charlie, 'The Space Savers'

Like most families with young children, Rachel knows their family has a lot of food scraps that can go in FOGO. They also need to create space in the red bin for all the other rubbish that can't be recycled.

Why? Because they want to do the right thing for the environment. They also know they can save money by downsizing their red bin.

Did you know you can save $400 each year (based on moving from a 240L to 120L bin size)?

On average, about 30% of the waste in red-lidded bins in Wollongong is made up of food waste. For some residents, if you reduce how much waste enters your red-lidded bin, you might be able to downsize to a smaller bin (120L and 80L options available), saving you money on yearly fees.
