New Year's Eve 2024: What's On

New Year's Eve presented by Wollongong City Council is a fun, family friendly, alcohol-free event. Enjoy sweeping views of Wollongong Harbour and our beautiful coastline as you bring in the new year.

Throughout the event there will be roving entertainers, street performers, musicians, kids' activities and some surprises in store.

Performance times will be between 5pm – 8.45pm with multiple performances from each act, so make sure you arrive early and enjoy the atmosphere.

i98 Activities

Join our media partner i98FM in Osborne Park for some fun games, prizes and give aways. This spot is always a hit with families and kids.

i98 soundtrack will be on all night so wherever you are in the event precinct, you can hear the tunes.

Jerry Hatricks

With his charismatic personality, juggling skills and giant size balloons, Jerry blends comedy magic, dexterity, and beloved circus traditions into an unforgettable show.

Gemima Jones

Gemima Jones is one of Australia’s most absurd aerial and ground contortionists. Catch her as she ties herself into knots and performs impressive balancing feats several feet off the ground.

Tom Foolery

Tom Foolery's brilliantly structured and laugh-a-minute show features a special blend of magic and circus presented in a way that delights children and adults of all ages!

King St Brass

King Street Brass Band brings high energy pop bangers and New Orleans party music to the streets. Consisting of trumpet, saxophone, sousaphone and drums, they have fun dancing with people whilst creating memorable moments for all that watch and listen.

Sam McMahon

Having grown up on the South Coast of NSW, Sam’s instrumental music is reminiscent of a childhood spent in a rural community. It incorporates finger style guitar, mixed with a GigPig drum kit.

Quiet Tent

The event also offers a Quiet Tent with sensory activities. This is a great space where you can take a break and relax during the event. The Quiet Tent will be near the corner of Cliff Road and Marine Drive.

Wollongong Summer Carnival

The Wollongong Summer Carnival will be held in Lang Park on New Year's Eve from 2pm – 10.30pm. Enjoy fun rides and international food trucks.

The carnival will be running on 31 December 2024 and 3 - 5 January 2025.
