Creative Wollongong Studios Open Day

Join us and visit the Creative Wollongong Studios in the heart of Wollongong's Arts Precinct at this free event that’s happening from 2-4pm on Saturday 17 February.

You'll get to experience the studios, plus meet the current resident artists working in the space: Xavier Harvey, Prince Aydin, Will O’Toole, Rhiannon Pegler, Jes R.R Alexander and Mitch Jennings (South Coast Writers Centre). There'll also be live music by Godriguez.

The Creative Wollongong Studios are in the Lower Town Hall. Entry is from the laneway between Wollongong Art Gallery and the Town Hall.

Lord Mayor’s Picnic in the Park for school starters

After being rained out late last year, we’re back for a special event in MacCabe Park for 2024 school starters and their families!

The Lord Mayor’s Picnic in the Park for School Starters will be held on Sunday 18 February from 10am-12noon at MacCabe Park in Wollongong.

This event is a chance for school starters and parents to get lots of great information to help them on their school journey. There will be free entertainment and great giveaways for 2024 school starters as well as a very special Storytime read by the Wollongong City Council Lord Mayor.

For more information see the Lord Mayor’s Picnic in the Park webpage.

Super Saturday Plant Sale

We’re kicking off autumn with a Super Saturday Plant Sale on Saturday 2 March at the Wollongong Botanic Garden.

Between 7.30am-2.30pm, Wollongong City ratepayers can come along and purchase local trees, shrubs, ground covers and grasses for their garden.

Our expert horticulture staff are also on hand to provide advice about what plant species will work best at your property.

For more information, visit the Wollongong Botanic Garden’s website.

Lady Mayoress Afternoon Tea Dance

As part of the Wollongong City Council 2024 Seniors Festival, the ever-popular Lady Mayoress Afternoon Tea Dance returns to Wollongong Town Hall.

The dance is hosted by Wollongong City Council in conjunction with the Seniors Festival Committee.

Bookings to the free event have now opened online, and seniors are encouraged to get in early as tickets are just as popular as restricted view seats at a Taylor Swift concert.

The event will be held on Tuesday 19 march from 1-3pm and includes music, the opportunity to dance and a delicious afternoon tea.

For more information visit the dedicated page on Council’s website or give our Customer Service team a call on 4227 7111.
