Young People

Our Youth Services team work with people aged 12-24 years.  We provide spaces, activities, information and support.

We regularly check in with young people in Wollongong about what’s important to you, and include you in city-wide decisions that affect you. You can read our most recent report about what young people in Wollongong need and want below:

Our spaces

All of our spaces for young people are safe, fun and accessible. They’re also supervised, and drug and alcohol-free.

The Youth Centre is a space where you can hang out, learn new skills, meet new people or express your creativity.

Wollongong Youth Centre is open for drop-ins in at these times:

Tuesday 3 - 6pm
Thursday 3 - 8pm
Saturday 1 - 4pm

We sometimes hold events outside these hours, so check our Facebook page or events calendar to find out what’s coming up.

Our staff are also available at the Centre from 10am – 5pm Monday to Friday, and 1 – 4pm Saturdays if you have questions or need support. You can get in touch by email or call us on (02) 4227 8222.

Space for hire

Service providers can book space at Wollongong Youth Centre to hold activities for young people.

Our facilities include:

  • A 300 capacity auditorium with stage, lighting and PA
  • Soundproof music rehearsal room
  • Art room
  • Meeting rooms
  • Kitchen.

Our services

We can connect you with information, services and opportunities.

Our staff take the time to listen, understand what you need and help you explore your options. We can provide information, support and referral across a lot of areas including:

  • Recreational activities
  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Support groups
  • Mental health
  • Accommodation
  • Employment and training.
