In a first for our city, we're adding some pop-up (or pilot) cycling routes to make it safer and easier for you to ride on our roads.
To support this work, we've changed some on-road parking, added traffic-calming measures, and turned some footpaths into shared paths for use by both pedestrians and cyclists.
You can read more about the work we're doing for this project by selecting a suburb below.
This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Wollongong City Council.
We developed this project after talking with the community about cycling in our city. Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts and ideas.
We're working to make the changes as smooth and safe as possible. Read our shared paths and separated cycleways pages for information about how to safely use these types of cycling routes.
