We have some unique plants and landscapes in Wollongong, including several that are at risk of disappearing.
Wollongong Botanic Garden works to try and propagate rare local plants.
With the help of volunteers, Council also regenerates many natural areas to try and support these at-risk plants.
You can find information about some of our local rare, significant and threatened plant life in the Illawarra Biodiversity Strategy volume 1 PDF, 10479.7 KB and volume 2 PDF, 32881.18 KB.
We also have a guide to Endangered Ecological Communities of the Illawarra PDF, 628.74 KB.
