Fig First Aid

A few of the Fig Trees in Belmore Basin are looking a little worse for wear.

Tests have been undertaken and an independent fig expert has confirmed there is a severe infestation of Fig Psyllid (a common insect pest). It is affecting a number of figs in the area, causing them to lose their leaves.

This insect will normally die off naturally in hot dry conditions. However, with the recent wet and humid conditions the trees have been treated to help them recover.

We expect the trees to bounce back quickly and return to looking their best in the coming months.
