A Pool Certificate of Compliance

For shared pools that are part of strata complexes or community schemes, the owners corporation (or body corporate) has to make sure pools are compliant. Talk to your strata manager, real estate agent or conveyancer for details.

How do I get a certificate?

Pool certificates can be issued by Council or an accredited certifier. Before you apply, make sure your pool is registered and have your registration number handy.

Apply online

Before you can apply, you need to log in or register in our Online Services system.

Once you are logged in, select Lodge an Application, then Certificates and Certificate of Compliance – Section 22D – Swimming Pools Act 1992.

Alternatively, you can use our Certificate Application form PDF, 192.27 KB and tick '22D - Certificate of Compliance – Section 22D Swimming Pools Act 1992' in Section 1 of the form.

What happens after I apply?

Council will inspect your pool or spa. See our Pool Inspections page for information about this process.

After the pool passes inspection and payment has been received, we will post the certificate to you.

How long does a certificate last?

Certificates are valid for three years. However, if your pool is inspected during that time and doesn’t meet requirements, the certificate can be revoked.
